Iceland frozen food king Malcolm Walker is a lovely chap. He must be, as he regularly picks up awards for being Britain’s best boss. He is also prone to putting his foot and mouth in it, a la the horsemeat scandal. However you won’t find him going anywhere near the likes of a donner kebab pizza for a quid – apparently a fave with Iceland fans. Instead, at the company head office in Deeside the staff canteen is run by a Michelin starred chef who regularly rustles up posh nosh like lobster thermidor. Down the road at Mal’s sumptuous Cheshire mansion he has organic vegetable gardens, groves of fruit trees and bees to feed off. Not exactly slumming it like his thrifty working class customers is it?
